Huawei has today announced the introduction of Huawei FusionSolar, its Smart PV solution, into the Kenyan market. FusionSolar is the company’s complete integrated system for residential solar energy solution.

With a growing number of homeowners jumping on the solar bandwagon and turning their houses into power plants, the home energy storage system (ESS) – a device that stores electricity as chemical energy – plays an even greater role in this unprecedented energy transition.

The theme of the day at the event was carbon neutrality with Huawei Kenya CEO Will Meng gave a glimpse to the inroads Huawei has made over the years as well as officially launching the LUNA 2000.

“Indeed the concept of carbon neutrality is not new to us. At Huawei, we pride ourselves for working towards reducing our carbon footprint and for accelerating carbon neutrality in the countries we operate in. For many years, we have developed our expertise in energy solutions to power base stations and data centers, and installed our first solar energy solutions almost 15 years ago”.

“Today, we shall officially launch our new energy storage solution – the LUNA 2000 – suitable for residential scenarios; expound on our FusionSolar Smart PV solutions for commercial and industrial scenarios and, also introduce our Smart PV Solutions training and certification program to you.”

“It indeed is in our best interest to increase the uptake of solar as a reliable, safe and efficient renewable source of energy in Kenya. We pledge to continue listening and acting upon our customers’ needs, increase our investment in solar energy research and development, and also continue working closely with local partners, like you. We believe in shared effort and success! Thank you very much for your time and continuous trust and support! “

Not only will it increase the self-consumption rate of solar energy but also can provide critical support during power outages or load shedding. A home energy storage system, equipped with backup power boxes, can always keep our internet and household appliances on. From Australia to Italy, from Vietnam to the Netherlands and now here in Kenya, Huawei’s smart string energy storage system LUNA2000 lights up homes with clean energy around the world.

LUNA2000, the flagship product of Huawei FusionSolar Residential Smart PV Solution, is a residential energy storage system (ESS) for optimal electricity cost.

When it comes to residential PV rooftop systems, residential installers are usually expected to provide homeowners with a robust, a cost-effective, self-consumption system that remains highly efficient, flexible and easy to install, and comes with smart applications and reliable customer service. Huawei’s new range of products has been developed to focus on delivering three main benefits: optimal electricity cost, active safety and better experience.

Huawei offers leading Smart PV solutions harnessing more than 30 years of expertise in digital information technology. By integrating AI and Cloud, Huawei further incorporates many latest ICT technologies with PV for optimal power generation, thus making the solar power plant to be Highly Efficient, Safe & Reliable with Smart O&M and Grid Supporting capabilities and builds the foundation for solar to become the main energy source.

For solar energy users, Huawei launched an advanced solution for C&I and residential customers based on the ‘Optimal Electricity Cost and Active Safety’ concept. By improving the utilization of solar power, Huawei has helped to power millions of residents and hundreds of industries globally.

Huawei will continue to innovate and enable renewable energy to empower each individual, home, and organization.
