Twitter is reportedly working on ways to improve user privacy with the implementation of new privacy settings. The company is said to be working on one such feature that will allow users to toggle the discoverability of their accounts on and off. This will be part of Twitter’s new “Privacy check-up” feature.

Through the Privacy check-up feature, Twitter hopes to educate users on the available privacy settings that are available for them.

Allowing users to hide their account discoverability may be appreciated by those who may have been targets of harassment or cyberbullying. In most of these cases, users may be forced to turn their accounts private or delete them entirely. This new setting may deter them from doing that as they may still keep their accounts but not be discovered by people who may be looking to harass them.

The tweet compose screen will get updated to show the account a user is tweeting from. This is helpful for a user who may be signed into multiple accounts on the same device.

In addition to this, Twitter may also introduce a feature that reminds users of protected accounts when they are about to reply to an account that isn’t following them. With this feature, users will be able to switch their account to public before replying to the tweet and this will make the tweet visible to everyone.
