The use of video conferencing platforms and apps for remote working like Teams, Asana, and Slack exploded when the pandemic hit. Companies have been busy polishing their platforms that help remote workers collaborate on projects and keep the communication going.

Microsoft Teams has also enjoyed a faster adoption rate and currently boasts over 115 million daily users as of today. Microsoft is expanding Teams support for third-party apps to challenge the likes of Zoom and possibly grab more market share.

Teams has added support for nearly 20 third-party apps, including Asana, HireVue, Monday.com, Slido, and Teamflect, and the company’s own apps like Forms. Each app makes Teams a more viable option for remote workers.

For instance, you can now add the Asana app into your Teams meeting invite, enabling you to create new action items during a meeting easily. And with Slido, Teams users can conduct live polls, quizzes, and Q&As during a meeting without switching apps.

All of these new apps can be found in Microsoft Teams App Store, which has over 700 apps. Besides, developers can also build custom apps and integrate them into Teams to suit their specific organizational needs for remote working.
