    Sony Plans to Enter the Drone Market with a new Brand

    Sony is planning to enter the drone market with a new brand called Airpeak. The company has picked up inspirations from the recent proliferation of drones.

    The company says the new drone project will be “in the field of AI robotics.”

    “Sony has assigned the “Airpeak” brand to reflect its aspiration to contribute to the further evolvement and the creation of the unprecedented value through its imaging and sensing technology as well as 3R technologies (Reality, Real-time and Remote) in the drone area,” the company says.

    Sony drones will be for meant for video creators and will be targeted at different industries, including entertainment.

    The project will be off the ground in 2021. Before then, the company plans to start scouting for partners that can help collaborate on the project in the professional space.

    Sony will have to battle it out with the likes of DJI, now the leading brand in the consumer UAV market rocking each list of best drone recommendations left and right.
