Tecno Mobile has finally confirmed that it is going to launch the Spark 5 Pro in Kenya in October. The phone is currently available on pre-order in Kenya all the way through to October 6th. Tecno is yet to share the recommended retail price of the Spark 5 Pro in Kenya but we should expect those details to be available as we get close to the first sale date.

The Tecno Spark 5 Pro is the upgraded version of the Spark 5 that was launched back in May. The Spark 5 was available in two variants, the standard Spark 5 and the Spark 5 Air. The two variants are available in Kenya from Ksh 12,200 and I expect the Spark 5 Pro to be a little more expensive compared to this.

The Tecno Spark 5 Pro is meant to position the company in the entry level segment as it has been active with its Camon devices over the last couple of months, and these devices are not cheap.

The Tecno Spark 5 Pro is coming to Kenya just as the company has announced the Spark 6 in some markets. This may not work well for the company as those who really want a new Spark device may see a very good reason to wait a few more months to get the Spark 6 in Kenya. Either way, the company is confident the Spark 5 Pro will sell as nothing has been confirmed about the availability of the Tecno Spark 6 in Kenya.

The Tecno Spark 5 Pro has a 6.6-inch display with a 720P resolution. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio A25 processor that has been paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. This is one of the upgrades Tecno is really pushing with the Spark 5 Pro and will be appealing to those who want slightly bigger RAM and more storage space.

As is the case with most of the new smartphones from Tecno, the camera is one of the key selling points of the Spark 5 Pro. The phone has a quad camera setup at the back made up of a 16MP main sensor, 2MP macro sensor, 2MP depth sensor and a QVGA camera. For selfies, the Spark 5 Pro has an 8MP sensor.

Below is a look at some of the other key specifications of the Tecno Spark 5 Pro.

    • Display: 6.6-inch ; 720 x 1600 pixels
    • Chipset: MediaTek Helio A25
    • RAM: 4GB RAM
