Realme has today officially entered the Kenyan market with the launch of the realme C3 that those interested can get in the country for Ksh 14,000.

Realme started off as a sub-brand under OPPO but now sort of operates as an independent smartphone brand. The company has been doing well in some Asian countries and is now officially entering the Kenyan market with the C3 phone. This is quite an impressive launch as pricing the phone at Ksh 14,000 will definitely work in their advantage.

Just like its cousin OPPO, realme will be targeting the youth market and the C3 may be the perfect device to lead this.

Realme started operations back in 2018 and says Kenya is the perfect market to get into right now. The company has a wide range of devices and says that fast technology adoption and innovation, open economic policies, and a strong talent pool make Kenya ideal for its regional hub. The company is clearly targeting the wider East African region and Kenya is just the start.

“realme’s launch in Kenya targets publics who embody the brand slogan “dare to leap”, which is inspired by the young generation who are regarded as being more open-minded, confident, self-expressive, liberal, upbeat, and receptive to new ideas and ways of living,” the company said in a statement.

The realme C3 comes with a 5,000 mAh battery, is powered by the MediaTek Helio G70processor, has 2, 3 or 4 GB of RAM and either 32 or 64GB of storage. It does support 4G dual SIM and has a 6.5-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

Speaking on the official launch, General Manager of realme Middle East and Africa Operations Josef Wang reiterated that, “realme always believes that by providing exquisitely designed products and reliable performance, we can provide diverse consumer groups especially youth with better user experience, realme focuses on developing its products and design continuously and will unveil more distinctive products and technologies in 2020 because our customers deserve to have products that are compatible with their expectations.”

“We are committed to enabling young people to experience great products at suitable competitive prices also enjoy a happy life provided by advanced technology and unique modern design, so our plans for 2020 is to invest time, effort and all the required resources in AIoT,” he added.
