After TikTok, together with other 58 Chinese apps, were banned in India, the US government is also considering to ban the popular short video sharing platform.

TikTok’s problems have been eagerly welcome by competitor apps in India and the US tech companies have also jumped on the bandwagon trying to replace TikTok as fast as possible. Instagram rolled out Reels, a TikTok-like feature in India, immediately after the ban.

Currently, Snapchat is reported to be testing a new navigation system for public content. With its launch, Snapchat users will navigate public content(content in Snapchat Discover section) with a vertical swiping motion, a popularized gesture by TikTok.

Swiping between parts of a story will still need a tap to advance, as it currently works. With the new experiment, horizontal swiping gestures to the left or right will exit the UI instead of moving between Stories.

Check the video below posted on Twitter to see how this works.
