    OnePlus’s “More Affordable Smartphone Series” is Coming Soon

    It’s no secret that smartphone prices have soared immensely in the past and it doesn’t seem to stop. OnePlus which found itself caught up in the price hike race wants to slow down and find their way back to their roots.

    The company’s CEO Pete Lau in an interview last month said that they want to make more affordable phones.

    In a recent post in OnePlus forums, Lau is confirming that the interview wasn’t just a chit-chat. They are indeed working on a “more affordable” smartphone series.

    It’s typical that affordable comes with tons of compromises, but Lau says it won’t be the case for their new series.

    “Today, I’m very excited to announce that we are bringing the premium, flagship experience that you’ve come to expect from OnePlus to a new, more affordable smartphone product line,” he wrote in a post.

    The new series will be targeted at budget-conscious shoppers who know and also scout for best value for money devices.

    OnePlus’s new affordable phones will be an addition to the company’s current series (which is tailored to those who need flagship-grade devices but at a lower price), adding up to two separate smartphone series under its portfolio.

    The new product line will be available in Europe and India at first and eventually find its way to the North American market.

    OnePlus has already created an Instagram page named “OnePlusLiteZThing.” But Official names for the series are yet to be known.

    It seems the Chinese company could be launching the new product(s) next month, according to a Morse code posted on their new Instagram handle.

    It’s not the first time OnePlus has tried something like this for a fact. In 2015, they launched the OnePlus X which was a more affordable device than the standard OnePlus 2 flagship killer series at the time, but never released a successor.
