The Nokia 5310 was its music phone back when having it on your phone was a big deal. The phone was first launched in 2007 and was quite unique at that time. This was an icon of its time and HMD Global decide to bring it back in March this year. The phone was launched to a global audience then and is now available in Kenya for Ksh 5,000.

The new Nokia 5310 is similar the original Nokia 5310 Xpress Music phone with a wireless FM radio, MP3 Player and since it is a music phone, it does have two powerful front-facing speakers. The dedicated music buttons found on the original Xpress Music are also available on this one. This makes it easier to go to the next or previous song, play of pause from the side of the phone.

Powering the new Xpress Music will be Nokia’s featurephone OS that is quite handful as it will give you access to apps like Facebook. The phone is available in Dual-Sim with 8MB RAM/16MB of ROM variant with expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card.

Commenting during the announcement, Mark Misumi, HMD Global Business Manager East Africa said, “The availability of Nokia 5310 allows us to reach all Nokia phone lovers from every price segment. The device is price conscious and offers our fans reliability and durability coupled with ease of use. Nokia 5310 offers all of these with an extra dose of design.”

The battery is not that big but that is not bad since this is a feature phone. We are getting a 1200 mAh unit that Nokia says will last for up to 30 days on stand by.

With the 2020 Nokia 5310 Xpress Music, we are getting limited colour options including white/red and black/red.
