Huawei P40 flagship devices will be announced later in March, but the company has chosen to unveil the budget-oriented model earlier today. The Huawei P40 Lite is the name of the phone, which you can say directly takes over last year’s P30 Lite.
The Huawei P40 Lite is powered by Huawei’s in-house mid-range Kirin 810 processor(7nm) paired with 6GB of memory. The display measures 6-4 inches and is an IPS LCD type that comes with a Full HD+ resolution (2,310 x 1,080 pixels).
The back of the device is marked by the quad-camera setup, which is placed in a square camera bump that uncannily looks like the one on the last year’s iPhone 11.
The main camera setup is composed of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is a single 16MP selfie camera lens, appropriately placed in the top left corner housed in a punch hole, a trend we’ve seen in most phones lately.
On the internals is a 4,200mAh battery, which supports 40W fast-charging technology. With the trade ban still ongoing, the phone has the company’s own Huawei Mobile Services, which acts as a replacement to Google’s app suite known as Google Mobile Services (GMS).
The Huawei P40 Lite was announced today in Spain and will start selling in the country as from 2nd March in either Crush Green, Sakura Pink, or Midnight Black. The price starts at €299, which is equivalent to Ksh 33,000, based on the current exchange rates at the time of writing.
