Huawei Kenya has tipped that it is about to launch a new device locally. The company revealed the news through their official Twitter account.

The Huawei Y9S is the name and is a successor of Huawei Y9 2019, which was launched about a year ago. However, it is valid to consider the Huawei Y9S as an upgrade to the Y9 Prime 2019, which was launched in July. A little bit of more RAM and the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the side of the device.

The Huawei Y9S features a 6.59-inch LTPS display with FHD+ (2340 x 1080p) resolution. Come to other hardware features, and you get a Kirin 710F SoC clocked at 2.2GHz, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage up to 512GB, a 4000mAh battery with 10W fast charging support.

On the photography front, the Huawei Y9S has a triple camera setup on the back comprising of 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor to help with portrait shots. The selfie camera is a 16MP f/2.2 lens.

The display is notch-less since the company has opted for a pop-up selfie camera. In return, we get a full-view display, which I’m so much happy about since I’ve never liked notched displays.

The phone comes in two colors – Midnight Black and Breathing Crystal. Huawei Y9S runs on EMUI 9.1 based on Android Pie. Other features include Bluetooth 4.2 support, 4G LTE, USB Type C connector, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
