As you all know by now, today is the day when Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 10. However, the company has announced its new chipset a few hours before the Galaxy Unpacked event happens.
Samsung’s Exynos 9825 comprises of an eight-core CPU (2 x M4 @ 2.73 GHz 2 x Cortex-A75 @ 2.31 GHz 4 x Cortex-A55 @1.95 GHz) crafted using the 7nm EUV architecture. With the smaller node, the Exynos 9825 SoC straight away takes the lead from its predecessor Exynos 9820 SoC made with 8nm architecture.
In addition, the Exynos 9825 is coupled with a faster Mali-G76 MP12 GPU. According to Samsung, the new chipset will not only offer an improved gaming experience but will also deliver intelligent photography, AI-powered assistants’ and more power efficiency.
The new chip will bring on-board various features on mobile phones including; Upto 8K UHD display resolution, UFS 3.0 storage type, a 22MP rear plus a 22MP front camera or a Dual 16MP+16MP camera, 8K video recording at 30fps or 4K UHD videos at 150fps.
The Exynos 9825 is also 5G ready but only if the integrated 4G LTE-Advanced Pro modem is swapped for the Exynos Modem 5100. Rumor has it that the Exynos Modem 5100 will power the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G variant.
It is ridiculous the new chip only supports LPDDR4X memory since Samsung just started mass production of their 12GB LPDDR5 memory sticks. But it is no secret that Samsung has the tech, although they are basically selling it elsewhere first.
