The Huawei Y5 Lite has finally been launched in Kenya and is available for Ksh 9,990. The phone was launched in the country earlier today and joins the Huawei Y5 Prime 2018, Y7 Prime 2018 and the Y9 2019 from a couple of months back. The phone is available on Jumia and through offline stores across the country.
The Huawei Y5 Lite competes directly with devices offered by Tecno, Infinix, Itel and the likes. It targets a very competitive segment, under Ksh 10,000 and will definitely upset the status quo that exists in the market.
The key specifications of the Huawei Y5 Lite are exactly what you would expect on a phone within its price. It is powered by a MediaTek processor and has the 18:9 aspect ratio that we have come to expect on every smartphone this year. The Y5 Lite supports dual 4G LTE and comes with 16GB of internal storage space as standard. This can be expanded further to 256GB using a microSD card.
