Huawei’s Y series is its line of affordable devices that you can get for less than Ksh 20,000. One such device was the Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 that we saw recently as an upgrade to the Huawei Y7 Prime from 2017. This series is primarily targeting the youth who want a modern smartphone but may not have a lot of money to spend on a single device.

The y7 Prime 2018 was not the only smartphone from the company as we will soon be getting the Y5 Prime 2018 that should essentially be cheaper. The company has not said much about this phone but since the phone was announced back in May, we practically know everything about it except its price in Kenya. According to the company, the Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 is designed especially for the young generations who are looking for a chic big screen, long battery life and more value.

The Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 will be launched in Kenya later this month according to the company and will be available exclusively through Jumia. Before this happens, the company has launched a Price Guess campaign that will see 200 people who get the correct price walk away with giveaways. The company has not been specific about the giveaways so far and this means that you can get anything under the sun. This will be a week-long campaign that started yesterday and should be on for the next 5 days until July 8th.

To guess the price, you will have to visit Jumia Kenya’s website but as of writing this, I did not find the exact page to do so on Jumia’s website. I will update this article with the link to that once I get it. Also follow us on Twitter as I will share that information over there too. My guess is that the price will not be above Ksh 15,000, the Y7 Prime 2018 is already above that and the Y5 should be cheaper and most probably between Ksh 13,000 and 15,000.

    Update

Jumia Kenya has updated the page and you can guess the price here https://www.jumia.co.ke/huawei-y5-prime2018/. Head over there and see if you are correct.
