Smartwatches are not as popular right now as they were when they first hit the market. Most people do not see the need of having them and this is why we do not talk about them as much as we do smartphones.

Even though people are not excited about smartwatches anymore, Google seems committed to this sub sector and the company released Android Wear 2.0 a few months ago as an update to its first iteration that has been around for far too long.

Even as other smartwatches got the update, those who own the Moto 360 Sport had to wait until now. This update comes about a month after it was made available for the Moto 360 2nd generation.  Even though it is late, I am sure owners of this smartwatch will appreciate it.

As expected, the update brings some of the major changes that were introduced with Android Wear 2.0. These include allowing installation of applications directly on the watch as this was not possible with Android Wear 1.0. The update also introduces a built-in Keyboard that allows users to directly reply to messages from the watch. Google Now is also being replaced with Google Assistant as the voice input mechanism.

You should be getting a notifications of this update anytime soon but if you don’t head over to Settings > System > About > System updates.
