As it faces stiff competition from Instagram Stories, Snapchat has been making changes to its platform to make it attractive to users.  The latest update rolled out by Snapchat focuses on improvements and features that are meant to improve usability of the application.

The biggest change is the addition of the new Loop feature for snaps that lets users choose if their snaps play once or if the loop until their friends tap to go to the next snap. With this, your friends will not just be forced to go to the next snap unless they want to.

In a statement, the company said, “There’s also a new Loop tool for videos so you can decide if your Snap plays once or loops until your friend is ready to tap to the next Snap.”

Snapchat is also changing the way users create and send snaps, the company is changing the layout of the creative tools adding a new Magic Eraser under the Scissor tool together with a new setting to the timer that offers an infinity option.  “We’ve all felt the frustration of not being able to fully enjoy a Snap – even after replaying it – and we wanted to give you the option of allowing the recipient to enjoy your Snap as long as they’d like. After your friend finishes viewing the Snap and taps to close it, it will delete as usual,” the company said in a statement.

The company says these changes allow it to keep evolving and provide a foundation for introducing even more creative tools to make snaps fun. The updated version of Snapchat is already rolling out to Android and iOS so you can check it out on your specific app store.
