Samsung is adding a new device to its ever-growing portfolio. We have been hearing about this new device, the Galaxy C7 Pro, and now the company has decided to officially unveil it.

The Galaxy C7 Pro comes with a 5.7 inch AMOLED display with a Full HD resolution. This is exactly what the rumours had hinted at. Powering this phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor that is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space. This space can be expanded to 256GB using a microSD card. For the OS, the phone comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with TouchWiz user interface on top.

At the back, it has a 16MP camera, the same camera you find in front for selfies.  We are not used to seeing Samsung go crazy with its cameras and to find a 16MP front facing snapper on the C7 is impressive, let’s now hope that it lives to expectations. Both cameras have f/1.9 apertures.

The Galaxy C7 Pro has a 3,300 mAh battery that provides all the power. For such a big smartphone, this battery is decent enough but I believe it could have been better, anything above 3,500 mAh could be better.

Samsung has not revealed how much this phone will be sold at, some rumours have suggested that it will be somewhere in the $400 neighbourhood (approximately Ksh 42,000) but the company is yet to officially confirm anything. We will update you on this if and when we get more information.

The phone is available in Maple Leaf Gold, Arctic Blue and Rose Pink color options.

    Availability in Kenya?

We doubt that Samsung will be launching this device in Kenya. The company was to introduce some devices in the Galaxy C family in the country late last year but this never happened. Probably it did not want the Galaxy Note 7 disaster to affect these new devices so it chose not to launch them.  I would still love to see some Galaxy C devices in Kenya sometime, I hope Samsung brings them to this side of the planet this year.
