A few days after denying that it is working on a smaller variant of the Mi Mix that was to be called the Mi Mix Nano, we are getting information that Xiaomi is working on an entry level device that it will be unveiling next week.
The latest information comes out of China and reveals that this new smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 5c, will be unveiled on December 6. The phone will be unveiled in China where its retail price will be around $150 (approximately Ksh 15,000). This will be half of what the Xiaomi Mi 5s currently goes for.
We don’t have all the specs of the Xiaomi Mi 5c but we expect it to come in two variants of 5.2 and 5.5 inch display sizes. Powering this phone will be a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor (probably a MediaTek one) paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space.
As for the camera, the Mi 5c will have a 12MP camera at the back and an 8MP front facing one. We do not have any information about the battery but we will know that in a week.
