BlackBerry is clearly not where it was a few years ago. The company has seen its market share drop as Android and iOS keep rising. With a drop in market share, BlackBerry has finally decided to embrace Android and it even released its first Android smartphone, the BlackBerry Priv, a few months ago. This will not be the only Android smartphone from the company as we are getting information that there are three more devices in development.

According to VentureBeat, BlackBerry plans to release one Android powered smartphone every quarter over the next nine months. This is quite a bold move by BlackBerry considering its first Android device, the Priv, was not very successful. Let’s hope the company has learned somethings that will help these three devices succeed. The three devices the company is working on are codenamed Neon, Argon, and Mercury, these will probably not be their official names when they launch.

The Neon will be the first device to be unveiled and is expected to hit the market sometime in July or August. This phone is said to be a low to mid-range device which I think is a good idea as not many people may want to get a high end Android device from the company just yet. Nothing official has been announced about this phone but rumors are that it will come with a 5.2 inch display with a 1080p resolution, it will not have a physical keyboard, something the true BlackBerry fans will not like. it will be powered by the Snapdragon 617 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space.

For the camera, the Neon is expected to have a 13MP one at the back with an 8MP front facing one. This phone will have a 2610mAh battery.

After the Neon, BlackBerry will release the Argon in October. This will come with a 5.5 inch QHD display and will not have a physical keyboard. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space. The back will have a 21MP camera with an 8MP front facing one. As for the battery, it will have a 3000 mAh one that supports QuciCharge 3.0.

The third device will be released during the first quarter of 2017.  This device will target the true BlackBerry fans who want a physical keyboard just like the Priv. It will have a 4.5 inch HD display as the QWERTY keyboard takes up some of the screen space.

Powering it will be the Snapdragon 625 processor combined with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space. There will be an 18MP camera at the back with an 8MP front facing one. The battery will be bumped up to 3400 mAh one.

We will know more about these devices as time goes by. From the specs that we know so far, it looks like BlackBerry is not leaving anything to chance as it makes a comeback, these will definitely help it reach more customers.
