Samsung May Not Launch A ‘Flat’ Galaxy Note 7 As It Focuses On the Curved Variant This Year

In 2014, Samsung released two variants of the Galaxy Note 5. One came with a flat display as expected while the other one came with a curved display (the Galaxy Note edge). We were expecting to see both the curved and flat models in 2016 as part of the Galaxy Note 7 family. yes, it will be the Note 7, Samsung has decided to skip 6, this is a story for another day so we will not get into it right now.

With the Galaxy Note 7, there might not only be the one with the curved display so we might not be getting a ‘flat’ variant. This is a huge risk Samsung is taking because I am sure there are people out there who like the Galaxy Note series but will not be comfortable with the one with the curved display. Samsung may risk losing some customers if it decides to go ahead with this.

Keep in mind this information does not come from Samsung and the company’s execs may change their minds anytime if they see that launching the Galaxy Note 7 with a curved display may affect profits. The news that the company will not have the flat Note 7 comes from Phone Arena and the publication says that production will start next month (July). Official launch is expected in early August so this make perfect sense. The company’s current flagship, the Galaxy S7 hit all the right buttons and we expect the Note device to match up to this.

Some of the specs we expect on the Galaxy Note 7 edge as it will be known include a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display with a Quad HD resolution (1440p). it will be powered by the yet to be announced Snapdragon 823 processor with a whooping 6GB of RAM and either 32 or 64GB of storage space.

It will come with a 12MP camera at the back, similar to the one on the Galaxy S7. For selfies, the Note 7 will come with a 5MP one. Since this is a Note device, battery capacity is pretty decent at 4000 mAh.

Keep it here to know more about the Galaxy Note 7 as we get close to the launch date.
