Samsung and Apple have never been the best of friends but the two companies always find time to do some business when it comes down to that. The two companies may end up doing some business again next year according to the South Korean press. It is reported that Samsung and Apple have reached an agreement that will see Samsung supply Apple with 100 Million OLED panels to use on its iPhones.

The deal is reportedly valued at $2.6 billion and this will be very strategic for Samsung since the Korean company is already supplying Apple with OLED panels used on the Apple Watch. LG is the other company that supplies OLED displays for the Apple watch but it seems that it will not be part of this new deal.

The deal will kick off next year (2017) and that is when Samsung will start the process of supplying 100 million 5.5-inch OLED panels that Apple will use on the next iPhones. This is a three-year deal and at least it gives us a clue as to the display size of the iPhones that will be released in 2017.

Apple and Samsung have not commented on this new partnership but this does not mean it will not happen. We know that Apple has plans to redesign the iPhone starting from 2017 and the company plans to return to the all-glass design similar to what it had on the iPhone 4 and Samsung will be right there to profit from that.

All we can do right now is hope that these two companies don’t take each other to court in the meantime for one reason or the other as they a very good at doing that.
