Sony Is Pushing Out Android Marshmallow Update to The Xperia Z2, Z3 and Z3 Compact

Back in October 2015, Sony promised that it would be updating some of its older Xperia devices to the latest Android iteration, Marshmallow. The company kept its promise and is currently updating the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact smartphones to the latest update, Marshmallow.

The Sony Xperia Z2 was launched back in February 2014 while the Z3 and Z3 Compact were launched in September of the same year (2014). As you can see these are pretty old devices and it is a good thing to see that Sony is still supporting them.

The update that Sony is pushing out to these devices is the final build that comes a month after the company pushed put the beta build. This final build 23.5.A.0.570 updates the OS to Android 6.0.1 and introduces some new features such as the updated camera interface. The update also brings with it the February Android security patch.

This update has just started rolling out so be patient if you still don’t have it for your device. The update is rolling out to users in the US, Russia, Ukraine, North Africa and the Middle East. It is currently available for the D6503 Z2, the D6603 Z3 and the D5803 Z3 Compact models only. If you have any other models, you will have to wait a little bit longer.
