For a long time now, we have always associated Infinix with Jumia. All Infinix smartphones from the Infinix Hot were always launched exclusively on Jumia meaning that anyone who wanted them had to buy them from the e-commerce platform. This meant that people always associated Infinix with Jumia and anytime you think of Jumia, Infinix comes to mind and vice versa.
The relationship has been very smooth all that time but things are changing with the Infinix Hot 3 which will be available as from March 29 for Ksh 7,899. The phone will be available exclusively on Kilimall which is Jumia’s biggest competitor in the country.
The move by Infinix to go with Kilimall came as a surprise (to me at least) as I never expected it to be honest. It is still unclear if this move means an end to the Jumia/Infinix partnership or if it a temporary thing.
Kilimall Is Rising
As I have mentioned above, Kilimall will exclusively have the Infinix Hot 3 in stock later this month. Considering that the Infinix Hot (the first one) was one of the few devices that helped put Jumia on the map as this phone was very popular because of its price. Probably Kilimall wants the same success and I think this is possible. The Infinix Hot 3 specs look very appealing considering that the phone will be available for Ksh 7,899. This is a very reasonable price for a price-sensitive market such as Kenya.
The news that Kilimall will be selling the Hot 3 exclusively comes just over a month after the company started selling yet another affordable and highly publicized smartphone, the Cubot Note S, which we reviewed a few weeks ago. With this trend, Kilimall may end up being the go to portal if you want to get the latest affordable smartphones in the country.

My sources inside Infinix tell me that the plan they have at the moment is to list the Hot 3 exclusively on Kilimall for about two months or so before other retailers such as Jumia can get it. This is the plan at the moment but things can change anytime depending on the sales. I will keep you informed if there are any changes.
