    Huawei Launches the Mid-Range Y6Pro, GR3 and GR5 Smartphones in Kenya

    Huawei has today announced three are mid-range smartphones in the country to help it capture that market segment. These are the Huawei Y6Pro, GR3 and GR5. The Huawei Y6Pro was launched early last month and it is a very good thing to see it in the country this fast. Very few companies usually bring their latest devices into the country this first and we have to give it up to Huawei for doing this.

    “At Huawei, we are building a broad portfolio of products catering for the varied taste of consumers. We understand that Kenya is a unique market wherein some consumers are price sensitive, others demand for quality and style in their mobile phones. Our range of products in this country reiterates our focus on providing smart devices targeting different segments of the local market. Our newly launched devices will help us to reach a wide range of consumers in Kenya,” Huawei Devices, Kenya Country Manager Mark Hemaobin said.

    The Huawei Y6 Pro

    The Huawei Y6 Pro is the cheapest of the three phones available for Ksh 16,999. It has a 5 inch HD display with a 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6735P processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space.  It comes with a 4,000 mAh battery which can easily get you through the whole day without any issues.

    As for the camera, the Y6 Pro has a 13MP camera at the back with a 5MP one in front. It comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 Lite on top.

    The Huawei GR3

    The Huawei GR3 on the other hand is available for Ksh 20,999. It has the same 5 inch HD display with a 1.5 GHz Octa core MediaTek MTK6753T processor (64 bit) coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space.

    At the back the Huawei GR3 has a 13MP camera with a 5MP front facing one. This phone also comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 Lite on top.

    The Huawei GR5 is the most expensive of the three retailing for Ksh 27,999. It has a 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Underneath it has a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm MSM8939 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space that can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

    This phone comes with a 13MP camera at the back with a 5MP one in front. At the back sits a 3,000 mAh battery with a fingerprint scanner for extra security.

    Availability

    All the three phones are available at Fone Express, Tuscom, Naivacom, Phonelink and other authorized retail outlets countrywide.
