Design and Display
The Microsoft Lumia 550 is an entry level smartphone so you should expect this from its design. Its design is similar (but slightly better) to that of any Lumia 500 series (Lumia 530, 535) device you may have seen around. As for display, it has a 4.7-inch Capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, this translates to a pixel density of 325 ppi.
The Microsoft Lumia 550 is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad core Qualcomm snapdragon 210 processor. This is paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space that can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card. As for GPU, it has the Adreno 304 one.
Lumia smartphones are known for their high performance cameras and am pretty sure the 550 will not disappoint. It has a 550 has a 5MP camera at the back with LED flash and autofocus which supports video recording of up to 720p@30fps. This is paired with a 2MP one in front that supports 480p video recording. I haven’t tested the two cameras yet but I will be doing so if and when I get my hands on this device
The Microsoft Lumia 550 has a 2100 mAh removable battery unit that may seem very low when you compare it to what is offered on Android but is decent from a Windows Phone (Mobile) perspective. This battery is removable so you can replace it if need be.
