A few weeks ago, we told you about Samsung’s plans to roll out the latest Tizen update, Tizen 2.4 to the Samsung Z1. We told you about the company’s plans to have the update start rolling out in a few weeks. It looks like Samsung is finally ready to push out this update and some users already have it.

This update is about 262 MB in size and for those who already have Tizen 2.4 Bet, they will only have to download a 17MB update. This update is currently available to users in India where the Samsung Z1 is a bit more popular compared to other markets.

As for what the update brings, users can expect a ton of new things that include WhatsApp Calling, Ultra Data Saving Mode and the ability to create private memos that require a password to view, edit and delete. Some of the existing apps that have also received some slight alterations include Camera, Message, Music Player, Smart Manager, Video Recorder, and Settings.

If you have the Samsung Z1 and still don’t have the update, you can check for it manually by following the following process.

  2. Tap on About device
  3. Choose Software update
  4. Select Update

You can update it from there. This update is available over the air (OTA) and you can’t download an update it manually.
