New images of the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) surface online

gsmarena 002

The Samsung Galaxy J1 is currently the cheapest smartphone from the Korean Electronics company. This device in Kenya retails at around Ksh 10,000. This phone has been in the country for a while and has managed to sell very well and that is why Samsung will be upgrading it this year.

The company is working on the Galaxy J1 for 2016 which we will be seeing anytime soon. The phone has gone through the FCC meaning that it is already out and is in the final stages.

With the FC out of the way, @evleaks has shared new renders on Twitter to give us a look into this smartphone before it’s launched.

As for specs, Samsung has not said anything official but we know a bit about them. The display will be 4.5 inches in size with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Powering this phone will be a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor. It will have 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage space.

At the back, it will have a 5MP camera with an accompanying 2MP one in front. Price will most probably be from anywhere around Ksh 10,500 and higher.

Non-impressive specs

As you can see, the Galaxy J1 2016 has some disappointing specs. Compared to devices such as the newly launched, Xiaomi Redmi 3, the J1 look like a joke. These specs do not command a price of Ksh 10,000. Samsung need to try at least and much manufacturers such as Xiaomi if am to recommend any of its cheap devices to people.
