The latest Android distribution numbers are out and they have just confirmed that Android Marshmallow is not very popular as of now. Android marshmallow was officially rolled out by Google last year and most of the major manufacturers are still rolling it out to some of their most recent devices.

As of now, Android Marshmallow is only installed in just 0.7% of all devices available on the market. This is a slight bump from the 0.5% figure recorded about a month ago. With new devices released in 2016 coming with Marshmallow and manufacturers updating their existing ones, this number may go up in the next few months.

Meanwhile, Lollipop is still growing in market share and is now installed in 32.6% of devices. This is an increase of 3% from last month. Lollipop may also grow going forward given that most of the small manufacturers will be updating some of their devices to this version.

KitKat is currently installed in most devices at 36.1%. This is a slight drop from 36.6% last month. This number will continue going down as Lollipop and Marshmallow adoption grows.

The old Android versions are still around with Jelly Bean dropping by 2% to settle at 24.7%. This is followed by Gingerbread which currently has a market share of 3% and Ice Cream Sandwich with a market share of 2.7%. We also have Froyo around with a market share of 0.2%

The introduction of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow may not have that big of an impact unless the device manufacturers do something and update some of their devices.
