Samsung has been busy lately introducing the Galaxy E series made up of the Galaxy E7 and Galaxy E5. Even though Samsung said that it will cut down on its Smartphone portfolio, we continue seeing new devices that confuses us on the company’s strategy.  The new entrant to the Galaxy series is the Galaxy A7. This device falls under the Galaxy A series that features devices with metallic bodies.

The Galaxy A7 Was officially introduced by Samsung today in Malaysia. This was not the officially launch event of the Galaxy A7 but Samsung chose to showcase the device just because they can. The event was used to launch the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5.

The specs of the Galaxy A7 are impressive staring with the 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels. The Galaxy A7 is a very thin Smartphone measuring only 6.3 mm thick. This makes it the thinnest Galaxy Smartphone.

The Galaxy Alpha has a metallic body (like all Galaxy A devices) and has a 1.5GHz CPU under the hood. This is an octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 Chipset. Included in the device is 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. A 2,000mAh battery is included to provide power.

The Galaxy A7 will be unveiled officially next month and will retail at $420 (Kshs. 38,200 before taxes).
