For a long time now, Samsung has been in a serious patent battle with Apple. Both companies claim patent infringements by the other but what makes the case absurd is the fact that Apple wants to ban the sale of some of Samsung’s products.
With the case still going on, HTC and LG have vowed to be on Samsung’s side. These are some of Samsung’s fierce rivals and for them to support the Korean Electronics company speaks volume. LG and HTC will be joining Google and a bunch of other tech companies in the fight. This is really impressive and shows unity in the Android ecosystem.
Google has been actively trying to help Samsung with the case and has marshalled some tech companies to ask the court to allow them to provide information and testimony about the patent saga. For LG and HTC to join in will be very helpful for Samsung.
For my part, I hope Samsung wins as the allegations laid by Apple do not make much sense. Apple is just trying to use the legal system to bully other manufacturers.
