BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) is one of the best messaging apps currently on the market. The Service was initially offered exclusively to BlackBerry devices but has faced stiff competition in the recent past and still managed to stay relevant. BBM messenger is now a cross platform-messaging app and is available on Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

BlackBerry wants an even bigger market share as it has announced that all Android wear users can get the BBM app on their smartwatches. BlackBerry announced this at CES 2015. With this app for smartwatches, users will be notified when they receive a message. Users will be able to preview the message and see who the sender is through the app.

In addition to seeing the preview, users will be able to see the whole message and reply directly from their smartwatches. To see the whole message, users will need to swipe the preview to the left. Replying to the message directly is easy and you can use Google Now to dictate the response. You may also use the pre-written responses available on the app. The BBM app for Android wear can also be used to accept BBM invitations without pulling out the phone.

According to Herman Li, Senior Vice President, BBM Engineering and Product Management, “BlackBerry is committed to listening to our customers and integrating new features and partners to improve the BBM Chat experience. The integration of BBM to support wearable technology is just one way we’re expanding the capabilities of our portfolio and delivering exciting options for customers to easily access BlackBerry’s cross-platform technologies.”

BlackBerry has said that BBM for Android wear will start rolling out in the next few weeks.
