The first Microsoft branded Lumia Smartphone (Lumia 535) is finally available in Kenya. The Lumia 535 has an entry-level price but packs some mid tier specs that you will definitely be interested in. The phone features a 5x5x5” innovation which includes a 5 Megapixel rear camera, 5 Megapixel front facing camera and a 5 inch display. The Lumia 535 is a dual SIM Smartphone that retails at Kshs 13,800. With this Smartphone, you will be able to do more for less including:

    • Make memorable Skype video calls with the 5 MP wide angle front facing camera, and seamlessly switch between voice and video with built-in Skype integration.
    • Access, edit and share Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and OneNote notebooks wherever you are, with the pre-installed Office suite.
    • Save and sync photos, videos and Office documents securely with 15GB of free OneDrive cloud storage.
    • Connect with work and personal e-mail while on the go, with Microsoft Outlook built-in.
    • Showcase photos and videos or get even more productive with the large, 5 inch qHD display.

Orange Kenya is one of the companies Microsoft has partnered with to distribute the Lumia 535 in Kenya.  Commenting on this, Vincent Lobry, Chief Executive Officer, Orange Telkom Kenya said, “More of our customers are demanding a large screen experience at an affordable price. With the 5 inch screen, the latest Windows Phone operating system and access to a range of Microsoft services, the Lumia 535 Dual SIM is an ideal device to offer them. With a price of Kshs. 13,800 and these specs, expect the Lumia 535 to bring some serious competition in this segment of the market. Having seen the device, I will recommend it for anyone who wants to enjoy the Windows Phone experience but does not want to spend a lot of money on the mid range or high end devices.
