The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo from Samsung are the company’s latest smartwatches. These two smartwatches were unveiled earlier this year and they surprisingly run on Tizen which is still a new ecosystem. Not much is known about this move by Samsung and we did not even think we could see the Gear 2 could get any updates.
Samsung has just surprised us by updating the Gear 2 in the first major update since it updated the first Galaxy Gear from Android to Tizen. Samsung is doing this to create harmony with all their smartwatches which are running on Tizen. This new update is over 20MB large and adds a few cool features to the Gear. Some of the major features include an improved S health, privacy mode and the blocking mode.
The blocking mode feature will allow you to mute all notifications when you do not want to be disturbed. This feature can be left to run all the time or you can set it up to activate when you are sleeping or at certain times of the day when you might be at meetings.
To get this update, head over to the Gear manager app on your Gear 2 and download it.
