Forget The Gold Variant, Samsung Unveils A Pink Galaxy S5 For Japan

The galaxy S5 was no doubt the most anticipated Smartphone of 2015. Most people, I included, waited patiently for Samsung to show us what it had in store for this year with their next flagship, the Galaxy S5. The phone was unveiled in late February and it did not disappoint as it had small but significant improvements to the S4.

Fast forward to May and reports surfaced that Samsung has shipped over 10 Million Galaxy S5’s so far for the first 25 days. This is a great number by all standards and I expect it to go further up as the year ends. Samsung had earlier said that it expect the S5 to outsell the S4, this seems possible as no flagship in the market currently is posing a serious threat to the S5.

The Galaxy S5 was initially available in black, blue, gold and white but now Samsung in conjunction with a Japanese mobile operator, NTT DoCoMo, is adding a pink one to the pack. This variant is only for the Japanese market at the moment and has the same specs as they are on the international Galaxy S5. This variant will also have the NTT DoCoMo branding on the front with additional features such as Xi LTE, VoLTE, One-Seg and NOTTV to enable you broadcast TV stations on your device.

The pink version is now in Japan only and there is still no word on international availability.
