Microsoft SA Appoints a New MD

Mteto Nyati

For close to a year now, Microsoft SA has been planning a strategic leadership change that has been finalised today. The company said in a press release that it has appointed Zoaib Hoosen as its new Managing director. Hoosen takes over the position that was previously held by Mteto Nyati who has been promoted to GM for Microsoft Middle East and Africa.

Nyati has been the MD for Microsoft SA since September 2008 while Hoonsen has been the COO of Microsoft SA since 2013.

Accepting the appointment, Nyati said, “Since his appointment to the post a year ago, Zoaib has been managing a large portion of the Microsoft SA business. He is a natural fit as managing director for the business going forward.”

In this new role, Nyati will be responsible for the operations in Middle East and Africa to help the company implement its growth strategies in the region. This position will have him travel extensively throughout the region but he will still be based in South Africa.
