Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 series, introducing the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ in Kenya.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy Tab yet at 5.1mm, while both models feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays, the bundled S Pen and IP68 water and dust resistance.
The Tab S12 Ultra comes with a 14.6-inch display, while the Tab S12+ features a 12.6-inch screen. Both displays can reach up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness and use Vision Booster to adjust brightness based on surrounding lighting conditions.
Samsung says the new 3nm processor delivers up to 61% faster NPU processing, 19% faster CPU performance and 17% improved GPU performance compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. A redesigned 3D Vapor Chamber is also designed to help manage heat during demanding workloads.
Battery life is rated at up to 23 hours on the Tab S12 Ultra and 21 hours on the Tab S12+. Both support 45W charging, with Samsung stating that a full charge takes about 95 minutes.
Galaxy AI and productivity
The tablets run Android 17 with One UI 9 and include Galaxy AI features designed for research, note-taking and multitasking. Users can divide the display into up to three sections, allowing them to combine activities such as watching a lecture, taking notes and using an AI assistant.
The devices also come with a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, including access to Google’s AI models and Gemini Notebook.
Samsung is also expanding the software offering on the tablets, with Adobe Photoshop pre-loaded for the first time on an Android tablet. Users get four months of access to the Photoshop mobile plan, while other bundled or discounted apps include Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion and Clip Studio Paint.
