The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G is one of the company’s latest devices under the Galaxy A family. It features a large AMOLED display, 5G connectivity, upgraded cameras, a bigger battery and long-term software support.
The phone also introduces Samsung’s newer Awesome Intelligence features to the A-series. These include tools such as Circle to Search, Object Eraser and Edit Suggestion.

6.7-inch Super AMOLED display
The Galaxy A37 5G comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Samsung has also included Vision Booster to improve visibility in different lighting conditions.
The display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+.
The phone also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. That IP68 rating gives the A37 5G extra protection against dust and water.
Android 16
The Galaxy A37 5G runs Android 16 with One UI 8.5 out of the box.
One of its biggest selling points is Samsung’s commitment to long-term software support. The company promises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades. The company also promises up to six years of security updates.
Samsung is also bringing its Awesome Intelligence features to the phone. These include Circle to Search, Object Eraser, Edit Suggestion and other AI-powered tools designed around everyday tasks.
If you are planning to keep their phone for several years, software support is therefore an important part of what the Galaxy A37 5G offers.
50MP main camera with OIS
For photography, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A37 5G with a triple rear camera.
This consists of a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera.
The main camera also supports 4K video recording. Samsung says it has improved image processing and Nightography capabilities to help with low-light photography. We will have to test this and share what we find in the full review.
For selfies, the phone has a 12MP front-facing camera that supports Super HDR support for video.
The inclusion of optical image stabilisation on the main camera should also help when taking photos and recording video, particularly when shooting handheld.
5,000mAh battery and 45W charging
The Galaxy A37 5G comes with a 5,000mAh battery. This battery size is becoming standard across Samsung’s mid-range lineup.
Samsung says the phone can provide up to two days of battery life. As for charging, the phone supports 45W wired charging. Samsung says its Super Fast Charging 2.0 can take the battery to up to 60% in about 30 minutes.
Price starts at KES 34,000
The Galaxy A37 5G starts at KES 34,000. Keep in mind the final price will vary depending on the retailer and storage configuration.
The phone is available with different RAM and storage configurations.
