iXAfrica Data Centers has announced the onboarding of Gewape Cloud Group at its NBOX1 data center.

The partnership brings together iXAfrica’s hyperscale, carrier-neutral infrastructure with Gewape Cloud’s sovereign cloud model. This approach increasingly in demand among enterprises handling sensitive and regulated workloads.

Gewape Cloud operates across Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas and provides locally compliant cloud environments designed to give enterprises greater control over their data. It is currently operational in Kenya, Rwanda, Nigeria, South Africa, Singapore and Brazil. It plans to expand to Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ghana.

By establishing operations at NBOX1, Gewape is positioning Nairobi as its main East African hub, while also strengthening its multi-region cloud network.

“True data sovereignty goes beyond local servers; it means empowering enterprises to scale freely across regions, without being confined by a single provider or cloud location,” said Munyengabo Dushime, Managing Director of Gewape Cloud Group.
“With iXAfrica’s NBOX1 facility as our latest East African region, we are further strengthening our rapidly expanding multi-region cloud fabric.”

“Welcoming Gewape Cloud to NBOX1 reflects the growing demand for high-performance, locally relevant infrastructure,” said Snehar Shah, CEO of iXAfrica Data Centers. “With rising demand for compliant cloud environments and scalable digital platforms, such partnerships are central to enterprise modernization and digital resilience in emerging markets.”
