LOOP is taking a different approach on its lifestyle commerce strategy this Easter by combining device financing, retail discounts and event access through its in-app marketplace, LOOP Discover.

The core of this campaign is a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) offer that allows customers to purchase the Samsung Galaxy S26 in instalments via LOOP FLEX. This is bundled with incentives such as a free Galaxy Watch 8 or Galaxy Buds 4 through select dealers.

The campaign offers a clear look into LOOP’s broader ambition of evolving from a digital banking app into a full-fledged lifestyle and commerce platform.

LOOP says its in-app marketplace is already seeing measurable engagement, with over 90,000 users viewing the Discover page each month.

The evidence points to a rising interest in non-financial services offered within the app, encompassing areas like dining, entertainment, and electronics.

These are categories that have traditionally not been the focus of most banking platforms.

    BNPL With LOOP FLEX

A key pillar of the campaign is LOOP FLEX which is the platform’s BNPL product that is being positioned as an enabler for higher-value purchases like smartphones.

To use LOOP FLEX, you need to be an active LOOP app user, have an assigned credit limit and a spotless repayment record with no overdue loans.

The product offers credit limits between KES 15,000 and KES 1,000,000. Repayment periods span from three to twelve months. A minimum 10% deposit is required upfront, and repayments are made monthly.

LOOP’s credit limits change with time, depending on how users engage with the platform. The interest charged is determined by a risk-based pricing model, so the rates fluctuate according to each user’s credit profile.

Beyond device financing, LOOP is also leaning into lifestyle and experiential commerce. Users can purchase discounted tickets to a number of events happening locally.
