Absa Bank recorded a 10% growth in profit after tax for the year ended December 31, 2025 reaching KSh 22.9 billion.

Total revenue stood at KSh 61.4 billion. This reflects on the pressure on net interest income which declined 6% during the period. The decline was partly offset by a 12% increase in non-interest income to KSh 18.1 billion, driven by payments, asset management and foreign exchange activity.

Speaking at the release of the financial results, Absa Bank Kenya Managing Director & CEO, Abdi Mohamed, said the results underscore Absa’s role in supporting economic activity across individuals, enterprises, and communities, while maintaining a clear focus on sustainable returns for shareholders.

“Our purpose of Empowering Africa’s tomorrow, together, one story at a time, continued to inform our strategic direction, while disciplined execution drove material progress across priority areas. These outcomes therefore reaffirm our commitment to sustainable results while ensuring inclusive growth of our customers, stakeholders and communities we serve,” said Mr. Mohamed.

Impairment charges fell 32% to KSh 6.2 billion, signalling improved asset quality and prudent risk management in a lending environment that remained sensitive to rate volatility and household balance sheet pressures.

Operating expenses declined 5% to KSh 22.4 billion leading to a cost-to-income ratio of 36.5%.

Dividend per share rose 17% to KSh 2.05. This comprises of an interim dividend of KSh 0.20 and a final dividend of KSh 1.85.
