Send App by Flutterwave today unveiled the Send App Travel Card. This is a new physical Naira card designed specifically for Nigerians in the diaspora returning home for the festive season. It was developed in partnership with technology partner Odysy and powered by the AfriGO network. Its aim is to eliminate common payment challenges faced by travelers across Nigeria.

Each December, thousands of Nigerians travel home for reunions and celebrations. Most of them encounter cash limitations, foreign card failures, unpredictable exchange rates and acceptance issues. The Send App Travel Card addresses these frustrations by allowing customers abroad to pre-order the card, pay for it directly within Send App, have it delivered before arrival, and start spending instantly across POS terminals, ATMs, and contactless payment systems nationwide.

Customers can fund the card directly from their UK, US, or EU cards using the Send App money remittance platform, providing a familiar, frictionless experience from the moment they land.

“The Travel Card is a major step forward for Send App. For years, we’ve helped Nigerians abroad support life at home through fast, reliable remittances. Now, for the first time, we’re giving them a physical way to spend with the same ease and control when they return,” said Harvey Bahia, Head of Send App Business, Flutterwave.

“Partnering with Send App on the Travel Card aligns perfectly with our mission to make travel spending seamless, reliable, and accessible,” said Chinonso Nwosu, CEO of Odysy.

“AfriGO is proud to power the Send App Travel Card. Our focus on secure Naira-denominated transactions, local data control, instant merchant settlements, and broad acceptance ensures the card works even in low-connectivity environments,” added Ebehijie Juliet Momoh, Managing Director/CEO of AfriGO.

To get started, users need to update their Send App from the App Store or Play Store, tap the Card icon and follow the instructions to order their Travel Card.
