Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A17 smartphone and the Galaxy Buds Core in Kenya. The Buds Core are already available, while the Galaxy A17 will hit shelves on 22nd September 2025.

“Giving more Kenyans simple, helpful technology is a priority,” said Eveline Munene, Head of Product and Marketing at Samsung Electronics East Africa. “The Galaxy A17 puts Gemini within reach through a dedicated side button for quick AI help. The Buds Core deliver clear, reliable audio and features for everyday use.”

Samsung is pushing its AI story into the budget segment with the Galaxy A17. This phone comes with a dedicated button for instant access to Gemini. This makes it easier for users to get translations, write messages, run searches or handle small tasks without jumping between apps.

One standout commitment is software support. The Galaxy A17 is eligible for six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

The device will be sold through Samsung authorized dealers and financing partners such as Watu and M-KOPA. Pricing starts at KES 20,800 for the 4+128GB model and KES 22,600 for the 6+128GB model. Available colous include Black, Blue and Gray.

    The Galaxy Buds Core

Samsung also launched the Galaxy Buds Core. They are priced at KES 5,100 and come with active noise cancellation (ANC).
