Genetec has been named the world’s top video surveillance software vendor, according to newly released industry reports from Omdia and Novaira Insights.

The 2025 Video Surveillance & Analytics Database Report by Omdia confirmed that Genetec retained the #1 position worldwide in video surveillance software. The company was also ranked first globally in the broader category that combines traditional video surveillance software with Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS).

The reports highlight the strong uptake of Genetec Security Center SaaS. This was launched in 2024 and helped propel the company into the global top 10 for VSaaS. In the Americas.

Regionally, the company maintained leadership in the Americas for the 14th consecutive year, held the #2 spot in EMEA, and ranked #3 in Asia-Pacific (excluding China).

“Genetec remains a consistent global leader in the industry for video surveillance software, maintaining top market share and addressing customer needs with innovative products,” said Scott Foley, Senior Analyst, Physical Security at Omdia.

Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering and Chief Security Officer at Genetec, emphasized the company’s customer-first approach:
