LG Electronics partnered with Safaricom PLC to power the Safaricom Gaming Conference through LG OLED and QNED TVs, an event that brought together gamers, developers, tech innovators, and industry leaders to shape the future of gaming in Kenya and the region.

Held at the Michael Joseph Centre, the conference drew hundreds of participants, including gamers from across the continent, who engaged in insightful discussions on the opportunities and challenges facing various levels across Africa’s gaming ecosystem.

As the official electronics partner, LG East Africa showcased its 4K OLED and QNED TVs and Bluetooth enabled speaker, X BOOM giving participants the opportunity to experience immersive sound and stunning visuals that elevate the gaming experience.

Speaking after the event, Jane Kariuki, LG Electronics Regional Head of Marketing, East Africa, said, “We are proud to have partnered with Safaricom to make this conference a success. It was inspiring to see the passion and talent of Kenya’s gaming community and discuss the future of gaming in Africa. Our home entertainment products are designed to deliver an unmatched viewing and listening experience that is both dynamic and engaging, and make it easier for gamers to enjoy their entertainment.”

LG’s  OLED and QNED TVs have extremely low input lag with a 1ms response time that ensures inputs on controllers are displayed instantly on screen. The C1 and G1 models are the world’s first to support the incredible Dolby Vision HDR at 4K 120Hz for gaming, reducing motion blur and ghosting for an unparalleled gaming experience. LGT TVs have Very low input lag due to the powerful Alpha8 Gen2 processor that runs at high speeds. The TVs are great for gamers and support VRR, ALLM, HGiG and have game optimizer mode in settings with bright pictures with over 700 nits in HDR.

Fawzia Ali-Kimanthi, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom PLC, lauded LG’s contribution to making the gaming conference a success.

“The success of the Safaricom Gaming Conference is proof that Kenya is ready to join the rest of the world. At Safaricom, we believe in powering the youth and building platforms where skills can turn into careers, innovations, and thriving communities. With partners like LG East Africa, we are excited to continue scaling up this space.”

The Safaricom and LG Gaming Conference collaboration is a key part of the broader partnership between LG Electronics and Safaricom, aimed at demonstrating how LG Electronics Smart AI home appliances and Safaricom’s 5G connectivity seamlessly come together to redefine the everyday experience of smart living.
