Dubai International Airport (DXB) has unveiled the first-ever AI-powered passenger corridor that lets travelers clear passport control in seconds with no documents required.

The unveiling comes at a critical time. Between August 13 and 25, more than 3.6 million travelers are expected to pass through DXB. This averages to about 280,000 passengers daily. The new system is designed to ease congestion during peak travel seasons but still ensure speed, efficiency and security.

How the “Red Carpet” Corridor Works

This system has been nicknamed the “red carpet” corridor and uses advanced artificial intelligence and biometric recognition to automatically verify passenger identity.

    According to DXB, the system

    • Processes up to 10 travellers at the same time
    • Offers Instant AI-based identity verification
    • Ensures automatic flagging of unusual cases for manual checks

This focus on speed and security makes it one of the most advanced airport systems worldwide.

Traditional immigration counters handle passengers one at a time and this often leads to long queues and missed connections. Dubai’s AI corridor will be able to:

    • Double processing capacity
    • Reduce bottlenecks at immigration
    • Create a futuristic, paperless travel experience

This means less waiting, faster connections, and smoother journeys for FFor passengers.

“Dubai is not just keeping pace with travel innovation, it is setting the global standard,” said one aviation expert.
