Kenyan healthtech platform M-TIBA has been awarded The Blue Company Project Certification.

The certification highlights M-TIBA’s pledge to strengthen governance and embed integrity within its operations. The recognition said the company is best known for its digital platform that connects Kenyans to affordable health services and insurance. It underlines its long-term commitment to building trust across its ecosystem of users, insurers and healthcare providers.

“Trust is the foundation of innovation, collaboration, and improved healthcare access for more Kenyans,” M-TIBA noted in its announcement.

    The Blue Company Certification

The Blue Company Project was founded by businessman Nizar Juma, with support from volunteer leaders across East Africa’s private sector. Its mission is to fight corruption in all its forms by promoting corporate integrity, building capacity against unethical practices, and supporting legal frameworks such as Kenya’s Bribery Act, which compels companies to adopt anti-bribery policies.

Kenya’s healthtech market has seen rapid growth in recent years which have mostly been driven by digital platforms that promise efficiency, lower costs and broader access to healthcare. There are still concerns of trust and governance, especially in insurance where fraud and opacity have historically eroded public confidence.

If replicated across the sector, such ethical commitments could help accelerate trust in digital health platforms, attract international investment, and improve healthcare outcomes for millions of Kenyans.
