Safaricom’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Cynthia Karuri-Kropac, Steps Down Without Formal Announcement

Cynthia Karuri-Kropac

Safaricom’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Cynthia Karuri-Kropac, has stepped down from her position and has been replaced by Frankline Okata. There has been no clear communication from the telco regarding why she has stepped down from the position she has held for the past two years.

With no official communication, it is unclear why she stepped down or where she will be heading.

Before joining Safaricom in 2022, she had a long stint at AT&T where she held several leadership positions. At Safaricom, she replaced Kris Senanu who had at that point held the position for about a year.

Frankline Okata has already been listed on Safaricom’s official page as the Acting Chief Enterprise Business Officer. Karuri-Kropac is not anywhere to be seen among the leadership team. This is a bit strange for Safaricom, which has always been open when its executives leave their posts.

Frankline Okata joined Safaricom in 2006 as a Customer Care Representative. Over the years, he has held several positions before moving to the Enterprise Business Unit in 2011. He is skilled in direct and Indirect Sales, Payments, Corporate Portfolio Management, SME Business Growth, Business Process Improvement, Product Development, Customer Experience, and Performance Management.
