OPPO has officially launched the Reno 12 series in Kenya. The company unveiled this series yesterday which saw the unveiling of two smartphones in the lineup, the OPPO Reno 12 5G and the OPPO Reno 12 F. Both phones are currently available on pre-order across the country. Those who pre-order get the OPPO Enco Buds2 at no cost.

The OPPO Reno 12 5G and the OPPO Reno 12 F are available for Ksh 69,999 and Ksh 49,999 respectively. This is a bit higher compared to the Reno 11 series.

With the Reno 12 series, AI takes center stage as the company seems to be taking that direction just like what every other tech company is doing. OPPO recently showcased its AI smartphone strategy at Google I/O Connect China. The company showcased various high-productivity AI features integrated with Google Gemini models. The company is even calling the Reno 12 5G, the ‘OPPO AI Phone’.

The Reno 12 5G has a few upgrades compared to the Reno 11 that are still worth your attention. The processor is one of the upgrades we are seeing. On the Reno 12 5G, we have the Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Energy chipset which promises better performance and better battery efficiency. I have the Reno 12 5G for review and I will be testing out its performance to see how good it is.
