phone is available in Kenya starting from Ksh 124,500 but the price varies depending on where you get it from. Since this is the latest flagship from Samsung, I thought it is a good idea to highlight the top 3 reasons why you may want to consider buying one.

The Galaxy S24 is the successor to the S23 that I reviewed early last year which is still a good phone. You can also check out the Galaxy S23 FE. Both these are good choices and might be perfect if you do not have the budget for the S24.

Back to the S24, if you still want it, here are my top 3 reasons why this is a good phone.

    The Display

Samsung has never disappointed with its displays and the S24 is not any different. The phone has a 6.2 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. This display supports HDR10+ and is perfect for media consumption. Having interacted with it for over a month, I love just how sharp and crisp it is.

The display is perfect to use in different lighting conditions even under direct sunlight. It also has great viewing angles and is compact to use with just one hand.

    Performance and OS

The Galaxy S24 that I have is powered by the Exynos 2400 processor that has been paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. I was not excited to use the variant with an Exynos processor as I thought it won’t handle that well. Looks like I was wrong as the phone handles really well and performance has not been an issue. From normal day to day tasks to gaming, this phone is reliable. The 8GB of RAM is sufficient as multitasking has not been an issue either.

For the OS, the S24 comes with Android 14 with  OneUI 6.1. OneUI feels polished compared to most of the other android skins and I love that. It is easy to navigate and has a number of useful features packed under Galaxy AI. These include Voice Transcription, call text, Circle to search among others.

    Camera

The quality of shots you get with the Galaxy S24 are breathtaking. It has a triple camera setup at the back made up of a 50MP main sensor, 10MP and 12MP sensors. I did get well saturated shots that are detailed and sharp. The camera handles really well in varying lighting conditions and that is what you expect from any smartphone camera within its price.

The selfie camera is equally as good. This is a 12MP one that takes detailed selfies that in most cases do not need any editing.

    Verdict

That is all about the 3 reasons why you should consider getting this phone. I am currently working on the full review of the S24 that will be up tomorrow.
