OPPO has announced the availability of its latest A series smartphone, the OPPO A18, in Kenya. The phone is available in stores starting from Ksh 20,000. It is available through Jumia and most other smartphone retailers across the country.

The AI8 is not the only device OPPO has launched in the last few weeks. The company launched the OPPO A58, A78 and A98 in Kenya towards the end of october. These are available at much higher prices, with the star of the show, the OPPO A78 retailing for Ksh 35,000.

    OPPO A18 Specifications

The OPPO A18 has a 6.56 inch IPS LCD display with 90 Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels. This is what you expect on a smartphone within its price range. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The OPPO A18 comes in two stylish colors, Glowing Blue and Glowing Black. Both models employ OPPO’s exclusive OPPO Glow design technique, which gives the back cover of the phone a subtle shimmering appearance, creating a fingerprints-resistant, dual matte finish with glittery details.

The OPPO A18 has an 8MP main camera and a 2MP bokeh camera. The two cameras work in tandem with OPPO’s advanced portrait algorithm to provide impressive bokeh light spots in the background and highlight the subject in Portrait Mode. With the 5MP front camera, the OPPO A18 delivers stunning selfies and enhanced video call quality.

For the battery, the A18 has a 5000 mAh unit that the company says can last for over 12 hours with moderate to heavy use. The battery supports 18W charging.
